Caught speeding

Speed is for losers. LSD is where it's really at.

I used to love LSD.

By the way if you are on L plates and are caught speeding is it still true you are suspended for 3 months ? not saying the ops is on Ls but some one asked me this the other day.

first ive heard?? i know you have the 2 year probation period after first passing,if you tot up 12 points they take the license off you and you have to do your test again:eek:

On my 125 ;)

36 in a 30, not disputing it never saw the mobile van just gutted as its the first speeding ticket in 15 years of driving and I manage to get caught on the CBF

oh well, wouldn't have been so bad if it was a decent speed not as if I had my knee down :)

Impressive :D

Are you sure you'll get a ticket though? If you were going an indicated 36 then it was probably more like 32-33? I thought they just ignored 2-3 miles over the limit?

I wouldn't worry about it.

Get yourself a satnav on the bike, or GPS based speedometer, then you know how fast you're really going :)

Surely your insurer will find out if you crash and refuse to cover you?

i dont know, they have all expired now this was around 10 years ago,the most recent speeding was 38 in a 30 and i did that speed awareness,i never told my insurers i doubt theyd even bother to check but that expired about year n half ago,you should see my paper license, all speeding

they only ask you if your taking out a new policy, they never ask if its due for renewal, your supposed to ring em up and tell them but im rather forgetfull:p

I'm on L's but have full UK license would doubt I would get suspended as the points go on my car license

Yea sorry to hijack your thread buddy I assume all good for you due to having full license but a friends lad was caught the other day, he just started out.

I will chase it up.

I just did a quick insurance quote adding on 3 points and it made no difference at all.

I will have to wait an see, if I get point so be it, at least I know where the buggers hide now and will take an alternative route.

Nobody will hold me and my Honda CBF back :)

you gotta watch every van or car thats parked up in a laybuy or on a bridge, lookout for other drivers flashing you to warn you aswell and slow down, you'll get a sixth sense of when ones lurking but they always catch you out from time to time, fixed speed cameras also

i always play with forward facing speedcameras and set them off as no front reg plate on a bike

Hate to say it but if people keep repeating this then they will probably bring in a new law saying all bikes require front and back number plates. :(

It would just be another ridiculous hindrance to bikers. Bikes would look so ugly and it could mess up the aerodynamics completely. ;)
