I won't bother explaining why I'm comparing the two, but which drive would be better (faster) for games? I have both drives and my 160GB Barracuda has no space left. Would moving games over to the Green hinder performance at all?

Here are the read and access time benchmarks for both drives:

As you can see, the access time for the Seagate is slightly lower yet the read speeds are also much lower. Will the difference in access time change the experience much?

For an OS drive, the access time would be better IMO (although the speed IS slower), but for a storage game with big texture files etc, the higher speeds will be better :)

I doubt you'll notice much difference during games. I FELT that my rig was fast when I moved from a slower (read speed) 320gb Hitachi to my 1TB Hitachi Deskstars, but nothing that I could quantify.

The biggest speed difference your going to get is by putting your OS on an SSD or a Ramdisk (if that's even possible!)
