cb radio

damn, this bring back loads of memories.

A long long time ago, when I was younger, I had a home setup and one in the car. The Di-Pole is still on the side of my 1st house :D I drive by it when I visit my parents.

I had a K-19 (i think) mag mount on the boot of my Mk1 escort, it was great fun in its day.

I am going to check the attick when I get home, I think I still have the base station in a box with the amps and things.

Anyone else on the channel will call back if they hear ya and wanna chat :)

aaaaar, it all starts making sence :) Whats with all the 10 codes and the like? are they worth knowing, or atleast having a ref sheet? And where abouts can i find a local braker channel?

yeah i rememebr having one in my bedroom when i was a kid, call sign was GORF< my farourite arcade game at the time.

Oh you 100% needed a license.

The channels for meeting new people were actually 14 & 19

and i remembr saying 14 a copy 19 a copy loads of times!

Remember the SWR meter you had to have to tune your aerial in ?

Those were the days, I got to speak to people abroad with it once or twice.

good old days, everyone had them or at least a lot of people anyhow.

Used to keep a little book of eveyone i ever spoke to including there call signs and location.

I know it was, but it was called a swar meter. You wouldn't have said 'let me just check my ess double you are meter' you'd have said 'let me check my swar meter'.

One day when I get a '69 Dodge Charger I may put a CB radio in it. Then paint the car orange. And stick some 10 spoke Vectors on it. And paint a Confederate flag on the roof. And an '01' on both doors.

:D

Ten codes are all but dead....

I dont think i ever used them really, apart from when Truckers were using them occasionally. I did have a rap sheet printed out :p

I do, however, remmeber saying things like "wall to wall and tree top tall!" :D
