CBT quotes

Jesus no.

I paid £70 for mine. That was some years ago but still, a friend last year paid £80 and I remember thinking even that was steep!

This is in the West Midlands, England though. I'm guessing if they're the quotes you're being given then that must be the going rate in N Ireland unfortunately.

I'm just shocked that's how much you're expected to pay!

When I read your OP I thought that was damn expensive, I still do, but having a look at the schools in my area it seems the prices have gone up to around the £150+ area.

Seriously?

Thatcher's Britain :p

Just looked at the website for a school local to myself and it's £85. Not nearly as expensive.

Ok cos I was browsing through websites for CBT training, I saw a website from England offering £100 so I checked with you if that is the case.

Unfortunately, it seems so in Northern Ireland. :(

Ok thanks for all the replies.

However, I have read on other website about CBT:

Prior to 21st February 2011 – Learner motorcyclists who have provisional entitlement prior to 21st February 2011 – must complete CBT – or pass their motorcycle test – within 12 months of introduction if they wish to continue to ride unaccompanied on a public road.

This includes full car licence holders who are automatically issued with provisional entitlement for motorcycles after they pass the car practical test.

From 21st February 2011, all new moped or motorcycle riders applying for provisional moped or motorcycle entitlement will have to successfully complete CBT before being permitted to ride unaccompanied on public roads.

So any exisiting licence holder (either provisional or full) who got their licence before 21st February 2011 can be allowed to ride on the road providing that they must obtain CBT or test within 12 months (of getting a bike).

Have I read that right?

how long does a cbt last for? one or two years? i think it refers to that, otherwise its the same as before, you have to take cbt before they allow you on the roads, provisional or full

 over £100! Was only £70 when I did mine, and that came with complete kit & bike hire, and then got another £10 returned as I followed up a month later with my DAS.

Hope you manage to find it somewhere cheeper OP, N.I. seems stupidly expensive!

Never mind. It is the introduction of CBT.

I have just got a quote of £200 from one trainer!

 +

Firstly you don't need a Private Trainer (If that's what you mean) to do your CBT & secondly 200 quid is taking the ****.
Just find your local CBT place book it & go along for the day.
CBT is Not a test it is Training.
Mine cost 105 quid April 2011.
