Legal basis or not, if you dont like it, leave?
I'm trying too. The reason for the legal basis or not is in case I can get out of having to work my notice.

Is it going to have an impact on how you do your job - i doubt it. Do you do illegal things at work - i doubt that too. Have you got anything to worry about with CCTV being installed - NO. We had it installed in an office where i used to work and it caused no problems at all, no one complained either. Personally i dont see what the problem is unless of course your upto no good and are in fear of getting caught.

IIRC they cannot use the data collection to monitor your work or timekeeping
Thanks for the link but could you actually read before making pointed comments.Just to make things clear read this http://www.yourrights.org.uk/faqs/workplace-faqs/cctv-at-work.shtml .
If you really don’t like it you can always leave.
I'm sorry, does that mean I have to be happy with it as well? You're filmed hundreds of times during the day from CCTV on streets, roads, shops, bars, restaurants, petrol stations etc etc etc etc etc... why should CCTV at work worry you when you're constantly filmed everywhere else you go with the exception of your own home?
Basically not much you can do about any of it.
It's one of those 360o ones, so its recording everything. Is it watching you personally or is it just a camera watching the office as a whole for security reasons.
