CCTV solution

You can't really easily remove the OBD port but you can get 'lock' devices that are designed to prevent easy access to it.

In most cars it's generally just behind a small piece of removable plastic.

Arrgh right I thought it was be easier.

I'm not really a car guy I love them and know basic servicing but that's about it. I think my most extravagant mechanics was swapping cams following a guide on my first car.

Overall I tend to prefer, unless specific needs differ, the dome over the bullet cameras as they seem more robust and more impervious to scum bag attack.
Ensure that you need the 6mm lens, only two of my six cameras have 6mm lenses and the others have 4mm. In some situations maybe a 2.8mm lens is more applicable.

I have the same NVR as you have noted and it is great with my six cameras, maximum of 4 POE type directly powered from the NVR and 40 mb/s recording rate. But I use a Netgear POE switch.

I have a 4tb WD purple fitted.

Consider posting in the other larger CCTV thread for more peoples thoughts and opinions.
I figured 6mm as they will be 20 feet in the air and the garden is c. 60 feet long. I will look in to it in more detail before purchasing, but thanks for the warning :)

I did have a read through the other thread I eventually found, and it's what informed the choices above. It seems easier to go down the NVR route than trying to build some kind of server+NAS. Only thing that worries me a bit is the noise from the NVR.. it will be in the study and I really don't want fan noises etc.

The fan in that NVR you noted is so quiet (on mine anyway) that I had to hold my hand at the back of its outlet to ensure that it was on. Mine is squirrelled away and in a lock box, in case we get burgled.
