CDKeys being a pain or is this normal behaviour ??

We don't have the address on our driving licences here in Sweden. So if they wanted something with address on, none of the suggested alternatives would have worked.
 
Cdkeys have been pretty good, I've had no problems with ordering and the email with the cdkey arrives in seconds.
 
They asked me for this a while back - I’d used them prior to this without issue- I emailed back saying if they wanted my repeat custom then accept the order or lose a customer, they relented.
 
For New Customers YES & They do this to stop FRAUD! & You do this once only and then everytime after its instant........

There is a massive FRAUD problem online when it comes to CD KEYS from all the sites and all the main ones do this now. Even on Ebay loads of people are getting CD keys and then lying to paypal and saying they havent got the game! They run of with the CD key and then get refund its shocking! So I can totally understand this approach.

Also I have used CDKEYS for years and never had any issues and have always got my Keys within 2 mins...


I even sold a few CDkeys myself and I never give out the key unless I have uk landline number ( Witch I check ) and a full address with picture. You have to be smart in this day and age and this is one way to do it.

How is it going to stop fraud though? Having my passport isn't going to prove a CD key worked is it?

If anything giving random companies copies of your passport is going to increase fraud and identity theft.

The logic has to be that they are checking to see if the name and address on your ID matches the name on the card and the billing address that you entered into the website when you paid for it.

Presumably if they didnt match up and they believed that the customer was using a card that wasnt theirs once the card owner realised they were the victim of fraud they would get their CC company to hit them with a charge back.

Funny enough I have been 'checked' a couple of times by them, but they have never asked for proof of address.
