Ceiling fan instead of pedestal fan?

Mine is huge and looks like I have a plane propeller on the roof. Its Remote controlled with 3 speed settings and timer. Think it was about £90 from Argos.

Looks good, tempted for the bedroom, does it need an earth connection? We only have 2 wire lighting circuits and there's no info on the Argo site unfortunately

I don't think the one we've got needed an earth connection (which is funny as its got a metal case).

You want one that is double insulated, no earth needed.

Is that the westinghouse one? They do look quite nice, and less drop than the Argos one if i'm reading it right? (36cm vs 42cm)

I don't think a metal casing makes a difference as long as it's double insulated inside.

That's what i've been searching for, but nfortunately that information seems to be quite difficult to find in a lot of the listings

I have one of these, I believe it's the same as the westinghouse one but B&Q branded. Works absolutely fine, very quiet on low and shifts plenty of air
