Celebrity

what do you expect? Wimbledon, the British F1 GP and Glastonbury are happening this weekend, so all the crap telly is being chucked on the other because everyone will be watching them. At least there's new top gear tomorrow night :D

Celebrity mastermind, celebrity family fortunes, celebrity pointless, celebrity familiar faces thingy ....British Saturday night TV is officially ****. Wish celebs would just **** ***

What happened?:(

If you are old enough you should have fond memories of Saturday night TV

If you are not..I feel genuinely sorry for you.
So weird because I was thinking exactly the same thing this evening while Family Fortunes was on - with that ghastly Rylan Clark.

Celeb culture has truly gripped the UK but I find it more upsetting when idiots like Rylan can 'succeed' in failure and end up on prime-time TV.

It is time to rise again.

Thank you good sir! I was not aware that the new series was about to begin.

Most of these celebrities can be barely called celebrities

Agreed. I tend to stay oblivious to the whole celeb this and celeb that.

My sister in law was at The Stadium Of Light watching North East Live a few weeks back. Apparently a 'famous' girl group called Stooshie were sitting next to her and she took loads of photos.

I'm none the wiser and even after a Google search i still don't know who they are. My sister in law apparently thinks they are famous.

lol my cousin posted on FB that he met Stooshie after they did a thing at a club he DJs at.... I have no idea what or who or anything they could have made musically.

Also.. i gave up on Saturday TV a long time ago. around the time it became a yearly cycle of "I'm a celebrity strictly dancing on ice factor" with z list celebs rebooting their failed careers .

Is blind date still on or is it replaced by that northern monkey version of 15 to 1 for dumb birds? "show the **** to the twates"

Don't have any fond memories as Saturday night has never been for watching TV. So I feel genuinely sorry for you. :p

Is it just me who finds the whole celebrity quiz show for charity a bit... well, tasteless.

"Sorry John, you didn't know the correct answer to that question - so I guess the hospital is just going to have to do without those extra dialysis machines!".

Just avoid TV all together, much better to cherry pick & watch the few things worth watching via streaming on Netflix/Love-film.

On that note, the selection of Netflix is surprisingly good - must have seen about 50 TED talks & a load of fantastic documentaries (not to mention, Breaking bad, Black-adder, Red dwarf, Firefly et), I see no reason to use normal TV anymore.

I use to love the generation game on a saturday night as it was good entertainment. The only remotely interesting show on a saturday night now is total wipeout.

As someone mentioned on another thread, how many so called celebrities or groups will still be around in years to come. We have the stones, status quo, Tom jones, Elton John and love him or hate him, Bruce Forsyth, to name but a few. Take That dont count as they do do anything for a few years, decide they need some more money, get together, do a few concerts then go their separate ways. Which is cheating. We have su h a surfeit of wannabes jumping on the bandwagon that celebrity has lost any meaning.
