Certain programs not working with Win7 and Gigabyte motherboards?

I got my TMPGEnc program working in Win 7, the remedy was to buy a later version, TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4...

Seems there are quite of lot of people with similar/same issues. I'm reading around various forums. Not sure where the fix lies.
