CF 5770 problem

I'd just do it with one until you know for sure it's OK with two. I can only see it causing problems, and there's no reason why you can't add it later. The sensible thing to do would be to install with one and see if you can get the system up and running sweet, then try the other one. It should be as easy as the drivers installing on bootup and checking the crossfire button in CCC from what I understand.

I know I just ask too many things, but I believe we should eliminate all things that might go wrong...

Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard?

Reading the change log of the P5Q PRO Bios, is seems you need at least 1611 because

2. Fix display priority is not correct when plugs two PCIE VGA cards.

Yes might not be that exactly, however if the system works with both cards without crossfire but not with, you might need to update the BIOS.

What was the error when Asus Update failed to update the BIOS to 2102?

erm not exactly sure what the message was, forgotten already

Shall i give updating through windows a go? or do it through the bios?

thats the problem

I have tried running the files from the asus DVD which was in the box and everytime i try and run it, it tells me its not supported my by operating system

this happens when i try 32 and 64bit windows 7

Download the bios for your mobo from the asus website

Put the files onto a flash drive

Go into your bios

connect flash drive

Go into Qflash

menu will appear

Select the drive with new bios

Update

Done.

just downloaded the latest bios, sent it to my usb and went into the bios.

went to Ez update, couldn't see an option for Qflash, while in BIOS update i couldn't see my usb flash drive so i couldn't update

I think with Qflash you can also navigate your HDD for the BIOS file, you could try that too. I had to try a different USB drive with mine, as one worked fine but the other didn't.

ok got it working now :)

Just reinstalled windows 7 with 1 card, did all updates and using the drivers that came with the cards.

All i can say is wow :)

Thankyou for all your help guys, much appreciated

Hope you dont have the same problems as me, Its fine and stable most of the time, but will randomly (when there is no load on the GPU, it clocks down to 157/300) black screen, then sometimes white screen then come back on and say "AMD driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" or some on those lines. It has completely frozen up the computer when playing a SD video off youtube full screen before. Its something to do with the card clocking down, but dont know how to fix it :\

ye my card clocks down to 157/300 when idle, but thats fine with me, because as soon as i turn the game on, they jump to 950/1250 :D

For the last few years we are given the ability to flash through windows, I do it without failure all the time.
