Champions League Final should be played at Wembley

after being annoyed by some of the drivel in the matchday threads recently i shall do my utmost to not sink that low. i will obviously be lashing out at the ref, players, managers sneering about them not being a proper club, talking about how they were built on abramovich's dodgy money. then lets face it i'll lash out at liverpool because one of your comments will wind me up, i'll make remarks about how you blatantly weren't good enough to get to the final, quote valdano on his '**** on a stick' go on about how 'oh i'm sure next year will be your year' then i'll get a bit more drunk and probably have a bit of a cry.

You have pretty much summed up how each Weekend or Midweek Football Spoilers thread turns out

Erm tbh holding it at wembly would make no difference to it being held anywhere else, the only money that would be saved would be on the flight, and if it were held at wembly tickets would probably be dearer to cope with the increase of people who would wanna go.

I think he means more local, not sure how something can be more neutral. Besides Wembley is London based, so surely not that neutral?

I never said Wembley.

Why have it in a country where you need to have a Visa granted, with no direct flights there too?

I totally agree with you, I have no problems with it being in a foreign country, Moscow does seem over the top.

Aye.

I would say they should do a thing between semi finalists etc and choose one out of a hat, but then it wouldnt be neutral.

I think Moscow is ridiculous considering the visa problems etc.

I think also it's quite hard to arrange these things - which is why they're done well in advance....

As Liverpool proved in Istanbul for example, where there's a will there's a way. I don't think fans of either Man UTD or Chelsea will find it difficult to get to Moscow..

Says on the Man U site that's it's Sky?

I would suspect, that what with United being a Premiership club and getting a load of TV money from all their games being shown on Sky they'd be more likely to say that it's on Sky rather than ITV.

Googling
champions league final itv
Seems to imply that most of the interweb seems to think ITV will be showing it.

It was a lot easier to get to Istanbul and get a Visa than it will be to get into Moscow.

We were talking about this the other day and apparently for e.g. sports events then even a place like Russia will give a fair and brief dispension for fans staying briefly (same as China this summer).

It makes sense for the authorities to do this. More fans coming over spend more money in the city for example. Also hosting the final has got to look like a good choice to UEFA, don't want a fans' scandel to make them think twice about offering it to them again..

Logistically you can't do this (not easily/cheaply anyway), suddenly changing a venue weeks before the biggest game of the season. It would also be grossly unfair on the host city to get shafted just because the finalists come from the same country.

Easy 'solution' moving forwards (if one is needed), only allow the domestic league Champions to play in the Champions League.

The final will be on both ITV and Sky I suspect. ITV get the tuesday games, Sky the Wednesday, and they share the final.

You english need to get over yourselves.

Would you be happy if the biggest day of the events at the olympics just jumped ship to a decent sporting country with a month's notice. Taking the money, repuation and general plaudits that go with it?

haven't most of us english said it should stay in moscow?
