Champions League Group Stage Matchday 1 *spoilers*

Lennon's finished....Never seen him lose the rag with a teamate like he did with McManus before.....

When Maloney did come on, right away we looked better.....He links well with Naka.....Jarosik shouldnt have even started, should have been Miller or Pearson....Oh well, looking forward to Copenhagen ;)

/edit had Pearson been on the bench :o

Was a thoroughly entertaining game and I think the neutrals would have loved it!

Would love Celtic to get a settled team - they showed that most of that squad haven't played more than a few games together.

Some nice passing and skills on display from both sides although Man U at home are different class.

There were three or four players in the Celtic squad tonight who must surely only be there for cover tho - absolute woeful performances from a couple.

I am a Celtic and a Man U fan so was kinda strange watchin the game.

Scholes and co played very well as expected - Rooney looked unfit.

the OT game was a massive reason why Man U needed Hargreaves. Carrick and Scholes as a pair are dreadful, its one or the other, Carrick's defensive abilities are terrible and his positional sense non existant.

Park and Giggs now out for a long while too.

Just seen Rosicky's goal.

Oh my!
Same here.
Best goal ive seen in a while. Bargain at the price they bought him for as well.

Good win for Milan. Not the most convincing display, but a good run out for some of our usual bench warmers. :)

What a fantastic cross in from Maldini for Inzaghi's goal. Wonderful stuff, reminiscent of the old Milan I love. Inzaghi is always a sure bet to score too, somehow he will bungle a goal in here or there and that’s something you need as an option. Kaka was awesome tonight, what a cool penalty too.

All the penalties given tonight were a little dubious! RvP played for it blatantly, Inzaghi was 50/50 and Giggs was never a penalty.

Fantastic result for Lyon again. I always thought Chelsea made a mistake about letting Tiago go for Essien. He has done more for Lyon that Essien has for Chelsea...

No real threat for ManU, was fairly easy and comprehensive. Even when Celtic scored i wasn't worried one bit. Glad to see Solskaer get the winner though.

*Bow's down and kisses Rosicky's foot*
That's what I'm talking about - it's been too long Arsenal.

Bring on Sunday. With a bit of luck - we'll have the scumbags.

Cracking match at Old Trafford.

Don't know why I'm so pessimistic beforehand when Celtic play the big teams in Europe, they never ever let me down. We went there with most folks expecting us to get a real doing, and walked away with heads held high. Hell if not for a couple of real bad passes from Gravesen and our nemesis of a refeee Lubos Michel (UEFA cup final) we could have walked away with a point or three.

Jan Venegoor of Hesselink looks like a real find by WGS, 3 in his first 3 games for the club and made Ferdinand look like a complete diddy for the goal. Just knew Naka's freekick was going to hit the back of the net. It was so going to happen.

Other highlight of the night for me was seeing Shaun Maloney back from injury. Ya beauty!

I think we'll see the best of Gravesen soon enough, only his 2nd game for the club after a good strong debut against Aberdeen. Hardly match fit considering Real weren't giving him a game. Hopefully we'll see a better performance out of him against the Austria Vienna B squad on the 23rd of September.

I missed the highlights of the Arsenal game, was it a dive by Van Persie ? Sounded a crackin performance from Ze Arse though

Dunno. I think the keeper caught his ankle, it's very hard to see from the angles shown. It certainly wasn't a red card as there were 2 players covering the line

He went down easily but the keeper did have a blatant grab for his trailing leg after he'd passed him. It was a soft one to be honest but if the keeper had kept his hands to himself play would have continued and RvP would never have scored from there.

Yes it was a cracking game but the only reason it was close is because of the Celtic keeper. He played a blinder, by far Celtic's MotM. The score should have been about 8-2 and it wouldn't have flattered Man U either.

Good match last night... Wasn't impressed by the Man U superstar team.
Felt we more than matched the home team, will be a different match at park head, when our players have had time to gel. 3-2 was a fair result cons the penalty was so soft.

Had Celtic more than matched the home team as you put it, Celtic would have won. To be fair, and i think the match stats show this, Celtic got away lightly with only conceding 3 goals due to the keeper and some near misses. Why can't Celtic fans see this. o well.

Wait a minute, your 3 goals came from a dodgy pen and two individual howlers from Gravesen.

Saha played a blinder but Rooney was anonymous, McManus had him in his pocket the entire game. Scholes was allowed to spray it about because Lennon isn't up to the task anymore.

You had a lot of chances because we didn't sit behind the ball like a lot of teams would do at OT, we had a go and damned near got something out of it.
