Championship/EFL Thread 23/24

I've said it before, it's all very well saying Leicester could struggle, but the Championship quality is poor. I think it's the worst I can remember in a long time.
 
It's difficult to think of a worse team that has come to ER this season than Ipswich, they were really that bad. How are teams being pushed over so easily by them!

Still a long way to go, anything can happen. Soton are another one waiting to take advantage of slip-ups from Ipswich or Leeds.

Absolutely, just shocked just how poor they were, more surprised they couldn’t be beaten by more in this league this season.

Classic Leeds. That Standard away performance from us; Farke needs to pull something out of the bag here as I'm getting very disillusioned with his game plans; I'm seeing him picking 11 very good individuals but with no real strategy in mind, another very poor away performance. Everyone could see Gray at right back is not right against decent wingers, his first half was poor, so put Spence there and Byram/Firpo left back, low and behold their winning goals come from Gray's side and him being rinsed, arrrgh!. Meslier is a clown mind.

I fully expect Leeds to be beaten tonight unless something changes formation/team-wise. Away performances are a massive issue. Id like to see a 433 with an extra body in midfield and back to 4231 at home but don't see it. If I see Gray at RB I'm going to cry. WBA are another average side up there due to their style of play, but if they're up for it they will beat us.

That's the team I want changing :D We seem to be a different team with Byram in it mind, hopefully he's back in it tonight.

Not sure Ampadu needs to move, he’s our most consistent performer. Defence of Byram - Strujik - Rodan - Spence is fine.

Gruev, Gray and Kamara are too alike and have no goal threat or creativity that’s what we’re missing.

I want Piroe at no 9. We have no number 10 so that’s a priority buy. Rutter RW and Summerville LW to change things up.

It's almost like we've all been asking for him to play there all season :p

I feel sorry for Piroe now that he hasn't had the opportunity at no9, Bamford scoring will keep him out for a few games i imagine, he was good today.

It's one of those moments where it's a surprise reading but it shouldn't be a surprise. I thought he was doing well, finding his feet after injury and playing at left back! So many issues with fullbacks at Leeds..

This was pretty funny though :p

Abdul Fatawu rejected a Ghana call-up for AFCON in favour of staying at Leicester this month.

Only issue is he got sent off against Coventry yesterday and is now suspended for three games until February 10.

AFCON ends on February 11.

If you ever wanted to bet on a win in a game 2-0 down it would have been that one, Huddersfield are terrible and I had no idea how they managed to even get in the position they had in that game!

Our only hope is that Southampton have some tough games coming up, but considering their form and their squad, I can't see them dropping out of the top 2 now.

It's going to be plays offs for us, eurgh.

This is strange as we beat them there last Friday, and they were truly terrible :D

I'm a cynic; even Ipswich would be equal on points with us if they win their games in hand :p

At least we have a lot of competition in the team now, and players performing who have come in; Strujik is out, so Ampadu and Rodon have been unreal at CB and conceded 1 goal this year. Gruev and Kamara have been brilliant in the middle, and Gnonto's form is probably going to keep James out of the team. Piroe scored last night when Bamford got injured.

I really don't want play offs :(
 
A huge win for Southampton tonight puts the pressure back on us tomorrow. We will ee which Leeds team turns up in our 4th game this season vs Plymouth!
 
Anyone watching the game on Sky Sports? The sound is really quiet when the football is on, the minute the adverts come on it’s mega loud. Is it just mine??
