Changes coming to Amazon Prime

No what the real problem is that huge companies like Amazon use legal loopholes to pay minimum tax in the UK by being based abroad. But it's the crime of the century to tip a delivery driver a pound or two after they have performed the service in the normal tipping manner.

The EU has legislation in place so that companies only pay tax in the country where their head office is based. This is hardly a loophole.

I've had Amazon Prime now for about a month and I have to say I'm really disappointed with the movie library. As a Sky user and someone who has been with Sky for about 10 years, you just can't beat their movie library. If I try searching for a movie on Sky I can find it for free... switch over to Amazon and they want to charge me. I don't think I've watched a single movie on Amazon yet. I was hoping to be able to ditch sky completely after my 1/2 price deal runs out, but I'm really not sure now.
But what's your outlay for Sky? Amazon is £79/yr whereas some people pay that per month for Sky. They're not really comparable. It's basically Sky's fault all the other services suffer with lack of content; because they can't compete with the huge Murdoch machine and the money it has to throw at distributors.

I'm amazed HBO Go/Now (whatever it's called) hasn't been released in the UK. They have the infrastructure, content, everything to launch it outside of the US. They'd rip out the middle man and make a fortune. Yet they don't. Just goes to show how much Sky will be paying them for right to their shows over here.

probably because sky hold exclusivities in the uk, which is why amazon/Netflix are starting to "produce" so many shows.

unfortunately that's not going to change any time soon.

amazon prime is a bargain.
and Mr. Robot season 2 is just about to be released.

That's my point; that Sky hold exclusive rights to all those things including HBO. It's terrible for consumers.

In my membership of several years, Prime movie library has gotten worse for newer releases. These days only 1 of 10 movies I watch is from Amazon (9 being from Netflix) - and I used to rave about the Amazon library before I got Netflix. But everything else still makes up for it, not to mention the Grand Tour coming soon.

Oh that's true, I forgot that was coming!

Amazon are holding deals this weekend on video rentals and purchases. There's a few good/recent films on for 99p rental (HD) including Bridge of Spies which I've been meaning to watch since I missed it at the cinema :)
