Changes to the F1 Regulations for 2015

They aren't even pretending its for the racing any more. They openly want artificial sparks, artificial excitement, artificial uncertainty.

They want to make it a show full of chance and special effects and "ooo what's gonna happen next", ignoring the fact its meant to be about racing.

In that case they should just use slow zones. The gap is maintained as everyone slows down to the same speed through the same section, but races the rest of the lap.
Now you come to mention it, this sounds like a very sensible idea.

This is probably a stupid question, but if they added slow zones, would there be any need of a safety car?

Nope.

The use of Slow Zones at Le Mans and in other series is to negate the need for a SC.

You would still have the SC for things that effect the whole track, like rain, but for crashes that affect a couple of corners slow zones seem to work well.

Stop that! It's silly! Very silly indeed!

My housemate told me that they won't ever get rid of the safety car as Merc pay a fortune to provide it and the medical cars. Not seen an official source on that but it sounds very F1...

The restarts with having to start on the marbles is just going to be stupid and potentially dangerous.

Maybe they will brush the grid or something. It's silly whatever happens.

Just turns serious accidents into an excuse to gain places, which shouldn't ever be the case.
