hey guys just set up my new raid array (3x250gb seagates) and windows has named one of my storage drives as drive C and it wont let me change it please tell me i dont have to format again
Card readers are the usual culprit but do IDE drives not sometimes appear ahead of SATA ones when Windows is allocating letters?I guess you have a Card Reader ?.

Moral of the story: Disconnect anything which isn't the drive your installing to.
no i have 6 drives all randomly plugged into the motherboards sata sockets after a reformat all seems fine and ive run HD tack and i get 267mb/s![]()
Striped the three drives? Even so that's very fast.

yesh just 3 drives striped on a 64kb stripe
