So after having a side parting for my adult life, I'm looking at having it combed straight back.
Last week at the barbers, after he'd finished clippering the back and sides, he blasted it back with the hair drier to get rid of loose cuttings, and it actually looked pretty good.
I'm 48 and thinning a bit on either side now. With the side parting, the side that is combed over looks good, but the side that is parted lays bare the extent of my receding hairline. When the barber blasted it back, it looked pretty good on both sides.
I've tried replicating the style at home but my hair is too short now, and the parted side has been combed that way for so long it wants to point that way.
I'm going to grow it for a month and then have another go.
Has anyone else done this?
If so, how did you get on?
If anyone wants to take the mickey, you must have a full head of hair.
If your hair is so thin that the barber has nothing left to work with, you're not allowed to poke fun at me
