Hi knowledgeable types, can someone offer some advice please:
My current monitor is a 60hz 1080p screen connected to my R9 290 via DVI.
I have a new monitor arriving, 1080p again, but this time 144hz and freesync.
I understand that to utilise freesync I need to use DisplayPort, however is there anything I need to do prior to setting up the new screen?
Can I just (while everything is powered off) just connect the new screen via displayport, and expect to see an image on the monitor, or do I need to select displayport prior to connecting, in order for the image to display?
I hope I managed to make my question clear, and thanks for answering anyone who does
