You say the Multiplayer is going to be incredible and I want to try this new IW.net system to see, but if it doesnt exceeds my expectation I lost 60 dollars cause it cannot trade PC games. Unless IW is going to offer a money back guarantied

When one of your friends buys it, you can ask him if it's good, and then make an educated decision."

Well then his friends has lost out on money, seriously =/

Have you tested IW.net with connecting with overseas players? And if so what were the results?

02:42 Vince-IW
Yes, seemed good."

Oh come on, for half the thread you were going on about how there would be no issues. Now it just "seems good"? ...

Amusing how they didn't comment on the 360 piracey, it was asked as part of a question and zampella just answered the non piracey part.

Is just a pure lazy port, no thought has been put into the pc version its just disgusting, i feel sorry for any poor sod that buys this on pretence of a good online mp.

Wow. I only knew about the lack of dedicated servers, but on top of that, the refusal to accept why that was a mistake (people in Australia: "we have bad upload speeds", IW: "oh well"), the blind naivety that 100ms ping is fine, the ending of the game after a 25-kill streak (team objectives? Pah!), the inability to ban/kick in ranked matches, and the lack of mod support is all new to me, and all utterly terrible. Clearly no thought has gone into the PC side of multiplayer for this.

Did they gut all their former PC-side designers/programmers between MW and now? How on earth would these kind of decisions have made it through them if they haven't?

It's this funny green stuff called Money. Somebody somewhere thinks they'll sell more copies by hobbling the game in this way.

Personally, I'd like to beat some sense into the particular marketing exec in question with my keyboard! (the steel-backed one)

lol u cant kick people either, so if some racist or rude tker joins ya screwed lol

DLc sales, they made 10 million + on dlc for the first one.

If this system lets them sell it on the pc rather than having to do it free they will be in profit.

Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

02:55 Mackey-IW
No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

WHAT!!!! All crap console ports have stuff like that, but its controller outside of the game environment. Utter garbage.

no they don't the star wars force unleashed Pc version, has no mouse support in any menu, no in game options what so ever (not even brightness audio, mouse sens, gfx) only options are the resolution before start up

That is a console port so horrific it's laughable, the physics objects even vanish before they've finished moving.

That was actually, SO *****ing lame! IW have really screwed themselves over here. I hope it comes back and bites them full on in the a**.

Surely, they can see that COD4 was so popular on PC, because of dedicated servers. How can developers not understand this?!

Also, they are putting server providers out of business. Way to go IW, so cool.

Ending the game when the nuke is used? Some people will get 25 kills easily. Or maybe not, because of the crap lag, and people rage quiting. Maybe that's what makes the nuke actually balanced?

I can't even justify spending £35 on it's single player element now. Will wait until it turns up in a £5 bin somewhere. But given how greedy they have been with COD4, I bet we will have to wait a while.

Well, mouse control makes it PC game. Graphic settings are also needed. They are hardly "custom stuff". They are essentials! What an absolute tool.

Did anyone actually use the lean ability? I never knew it actually existed in CoD4.

But that argument is dependant on 2 things (not attacking you, this is aimed at IW) - first, high game sales, and second, people playing long enough on the PC to warrant DLC content.

Less PC gamers are going to buy (200,000+ less) now because of IW.net, and when those that do buy, and find IW.net to be rubbish, they wont buy any DLC content as they wont be playing MW2 any more by the time the DLC is released!

Wonder if anybody thought to mention this to them....

I have lean mapped to my mouse wheel tilt and find it very useful. I use it all the time especially on maps like that Russian square where it's snowing and the one with the missile silos. It just makes it that much harder for people to hit you.
