Im looking at upgrading my system imminently and was wondering for HD's would 2 matching small storage (80-160gb each) drives in RAID 0 be a fast cost effective solution for putting windows/programs/games etc and a larger (500-1tb) drive as storage/junk?? If so i seen some WD800AAJS drives for £20 each. Just looking for guidance on the fastest cost effective setup. thanks

Yeah. Tomshardware did an article a while ago, something like "cheap RAID ravages raptor"... google it. Basicaly shows the benefits of getting some small cheap(er) drives in RAID0 and the performance benefits compared to the expensive higher RPM drives.

I would have a look at the small Samsung F1 drives, and run them in Raid 0 as you suggest, very fast (normal windows usage) and cheap. Depending on storage size requirement look at the midsize 640 GB F1s run in Raid 1 for duplication.
