25gb bandwidth is very small but depends on what your doing with the server

Either way it's neither good or bad...in the uber-budget sector that will always happen, and I'd guess 49pence are just having to increase prices in line with the huge datacentre price increases, like pretty much everyone else is - I expect the company you work for (P...) doesn't have that issue so much so you have an advantage there

Yep very true

If you dont find something else, my offer is still available. The hosting panel that I run is direct admin and there are no other sites except my own on the box. Would be looking for ~£17/month and you can use as much space and bandwidth as you need (40gb/1000GB is what i expect you to use). Server is at http://www.twilightinc.nl who i believe provide much better services than their UK competitors. Oh yes the os is Ubuntu 6.

Edit: Sorry. _many_ of their UK competitors

I'm sorry but that's just not true, you've just been hosting with the wrong companies :).

i am looking to run 20-40 sites with my own mail server and my own dns server!

It might be an idea to get a reseller package from someone like tsohost where its only £14.99 per month, and ask for private nameservers

ok i have just signed up for a vps account! it comes with plesk 7.5.4 is it worth updating it to 8.0.1? through the updater option menu? i mean the mysql 4 support would defo be worth the update! What do you guys think? just asking because i use on some sites i have produced text pattern content management system.

i would say for resource usage its better to go with 7.5.4, i had to upgrade my server to 1gb ram when i upgraded to 8.0.1, in all honesty i dont see a huge difference,
