  • SSD for caching which is a feature of the motherboard.
  • 1TB HDD for storage.
  • GTX570 for gaming along with CUDA support for applications which use it.
  • 850W modular PSU ready for SLI if you wish to do so at a later time.
  • Awesome case and CPU cooler.
I did not include an OS though since you didn't specify one in your original post so if you need that then add it on top :) to be honest it really depends on what you want to do with the system, is it a gaming rig or do you do a lot of video work (encoding etc) or graphics? A £1,000 budget is a lot to play with so having some idea on what you do will help us get you the best spec possible.

Oh! Surprised no one has mentioned already. Swap your optical drive for a Sata one. No one likes big IDE cables floating around their cases anymore. I'm not even sure if your board has an IDE slot. There becoming obsolete now.

Done thanks! See its silly things like this i do that make me glad i posted the build! :D Just trying to settle on a case now, will take a drive to the OC shop tomorrow if i get time to buy the parts and will see what they recommend for the case and the Ram space issue :)

Hold the phone! ha ha need to give stoners idea some thoughts now :)

Theres a few issues with Stoners build.

1) The PSU will not fit the case, it only fits about 3 Antec cases.
2) The actual wattage is unnecessary anyways as SLI is not an option with that motherboard as it only has a single 16X PCI-E slot
3) Add a SSD caddy or either swap the SSD for a OCZ one or select the advanced version of that case.
4) The biggest mistake is not realizing the Retail CPU is actually cheaper - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-360-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1275

But its 2 in the morning so I forgive him:):p

Only me again! Doesn't look like i am going to have the time to pop to the shop in person so it's going to be an online order tonight. Am quiet glad it's worked out like this though judging from the special offers this week :)

pcspeca.jpg

Have stuck with the same parts but managed to drop the cooler thanks to the special offers to leave a little more room for a better cooler. I was looking at the Corsair Hydro H series water coolers, would the H50 be a good fit do you think as i hear it comes with the thermal paste already applied? I see they have a H60 out as well but there doesn't seem to be any reviews as of yet. As always your ideas and suggestions are greatly received :)

Same as the last picture but with a H60 cooler :) I was going to go for the Antec kuhler 620 as suggested by stulid but after looking at reviews they all said it was more difficult to fit and i wanted to keep it as easy as possible.

^^ Sorry but garbage. I have the 920 version and it fits the same way as the 620 and is a piece of wee to fit, reports indicate that the H60 is not that great and the 620 is only £50 so I think you might have missed a trick there.

Awesome choice on the case really easy to work with and it looks the proverbial dogs danglies :) though I do note that you spent £777 when you had a budget of £1,000 how come you didn't spend it all?

Other than that nice spec and don't forget build pictures :)

I can't see the image - but from what i remember you've got yourself a tidy spec.

They're both much of a muchness - the 620 outperforms the H60 in most reviews but only by a couple of degrees on average (but this depends on reviewer and bias).

It's the £10 difference that's usually the main gripe between the two.

Not quite sure what Stoner 81 is talking about - as apart from the obvious price difference - the performance is virtually identical (apart from said couple of degrees). If the H60 is not that great then neither is the 620...

Neither of them match up to high end air of course - but big coolers can be difficult to fit so would't have fitted within your criteria.

Good luck with the build.

^^ There was a thread on here somewhere which had a review about the H60 and it was terrible I just can't find it now... typical :(

Don't worry Stoner, a single thread review wouldn't have swayed me - i read lots of reviews and then try to find the average.

TBH, i dislike both coolers (please don't take offence - personal taste) mainly because of price/performance - but appreciate the ease of their use and fitting.

Doesn't mean they're poor choices - as people have different requirements - i happen to prefer high end air for the same price.

I could not find the thread in question but I did find the video reivew it had so here it is.

Non taken ;) I love my 920 :D

^^ Spot on m8 it's the video I posted above in post 38 ;) I still can't find the damn thread lol but no matter. One video is not definite by any means but it would certainly make me stop and think about buying one that's for sure.
