Who did the electrics?
Do they know about supplys (TNS, TN-C-S, TT..etc)
If your shed is far enough away from your house then it would be out of the earths equipotential zone and therefore require it's own TT supply (Earth Rod).

Electrical work was done by a qualified electrician. The supply is seperate from the house and has it's own earth and supply. I have the certicificates that it's been approved.

In addition, the electrician asked me if this could be used used as part of his annual NIC EIC inspection as it was quite a different job... not sure what this is all about but him and a group of blokes came round a few weeks ago. It passed their inspection and he retained his status as an NIC EIC approved contractor.

I don't cut corners and no expense was spared when it came to the electrics.

around 4k including all the cost of the shed, electrical work, fittings, fixtures and some equipment inc the PC and peripherals. If this does for a few years then it's paid for itself. When I move out to a bigger workshop elsewhere, it can be used as a games room :)

Looks sweet, maybe you should go into the shed business, building high tec sheds.

What about some solar panels on the roof :)

. a lot of preparation and planning throughout last year.
. prepared area. took about two weekends
. 5" concrete base with mixture of hardcore plus type 1
. Shed from Southern Sheds..
. screwed in 15mm flat steal around for extra security
. Attached Plaster board Lite to griders.
. Good insulation
. a good carpenter for window surrounds and bench;)
. a good electrician
. good kids who decorated it for me :)

It's really nice to have plenty of work space at standing level and the work bench is at standing level with plenty of sockets.

Next stage is te advertising now the website is complete.

Out of the Earth's Equipotential zone? now that is an interesting concept, I'll have to remember that next time I do an install on mars :p

Seriously though, its not a problem with TNS, and only sometimes a problem with TNC-S (distance is only one of the factors to be considered btw).

I've got an IEE wiring matters article around here if I can ever find it if you want a quick look through it :) (and probably a few links to relevant topics on the IEE forums)

I can now look at all the filth I like.. just have remember to get some blinds else the neighbours will see. :p
