Out with Terry, Lampard, Anelka and Drogba I say. Looks like he wants to bring in Neymar and Falcao.
Heres hoping Chelsea get Porto in the group stages of the CL. The fans at porto are p***** off with Andre and Chelsea.
Terry was their best defender, Lampard their best midfielder, and Drogba their best striker, sure, get rid of those 3, genius.
Anelka, depends on if they use him or not, bit of a waste and no doubt high wages for a guy who doesn't seem to be in favour, new manager, hard to know what he thinks though.
It will be hard at Chelsea and frankly, unless Roman is really angry with Torres, then Chelsea's season could easily rest on if Torres starts scoring, or continues to be rubbish. He's either 50mil striker, or 50mil dead weight, will Chelsea get the best out of him, or do something crazy bold and sell him off for 20-30mil to someone.
Upfront isn't where they had trouble, especially when Lampard was out injured they had a huge problem creating good chances for the front men, Ramires, Malouda, Essien were awful most of the season. Ramires isn't capable of being a first teamer at any top 4 club in any league, small, weak, not a good tackler, clumsy, not a good passer, next to no goal threat, not very fast for a guy his size, complete dead weight.
Malouda replaced with a winger who's consistant any can score against top half teams, he fluked to good goal seasons but look who the goals were against, no ones, Bolton was as good as it got and that was in bolton's horrible run. Ramires replaced with a tougher midfielder, but with a real goal threat and MUCH better passing, Ballack was a much bigger goal threat and much better defensively, thats what they need to free up Lampard a bit more.
Striker situation and cashing in on Drogba would depend completely on what they do with Torres. If they want to buy a big name striker, AND keep Torres, theres just no space long term for Drogba, if they are happy to carry Torres as dead weight incase he comes good, they should never have bought him.
