So my eldest (10) came home from school last week telling me he is not allowed fruit squash in his drinks bottle at school .
Problem being is that he doesn't like plain water and this is all they're saying he is allowed and they have made him throw away his squash everyday .

Any suggestions on how to get around this or if there are any laws etc that say they are allowed to do this or not

Kind regards Luke

they cant make him throw away his drink, most squash these days is no added sugar so I dont really see why they being all pedantic, Id complain to the headteacher

Im still resting after surgery so not had the chance to get to the school as he is being picked up by someone else at the moment .

Not useful to your problem at all but you should really encourage him to 'like' water. Having a kid grow up essentially addicted to sugary drinks is not going to end well. An extreme example but my sister only ever drinks coke and other fizzy drinks. She's fat. And stupid. :)

Sorry but I don't force my kids to eat drink things they don't like , Don't get me wrong I encourage them to try everything but you can tell when your child doesn't like things or is faking not wanting to eat/drink them .

The squash we give him is no added sugar so just the natural sugar in them and we are lucky he is extremely advanced for his age so not stupid at all and well into sports so not fat just a big built lad :D

We have to put up with the same from my lads school. They even stipulate clear/translucent drinks bottles so they don't have to open them to check.

He loves pure apple juice but he's not allowed to take it.

You could try fruit flavoured water to fox them ;)

Why don't you just get some flavoured still water from asda or somewhere?
they come in various flavours and look like water
