Chinese GP 2009 - Race 3/17

Manual shift's are quite satisfying too imo, one of the best features in my car :p

But they're slow and aren't as efficient as those shifts that are carried about computers/machines. Knowing this makes me dislike manual shifting of any kind.

Semi-automatic is fine though, as in some corners you can purposely take a corner in a high gear, to avoid wheelspin and to get the power down earlier. You can potentially take the corner at higher speed using this technique as you run less of a risk (rear) wheel spin. Of course, some people believe that wheel spin is the sign of speed...

But anyway, we digress.

What time is the qualifying being shown on TV tomorrow?

See you all in the morning people! Am going to bed now and getting up at half 7 (yes I know im a part timer but its only the last bit of qualy that actually counts these days :D )

You seem to have ignored the cost aspect of my post, and how robust they are too :p

The manner in which you are describing the need for semi automatics for the general public would only be of use on track days.

Ohh and qualifying on BBC starts at 7am.

Get up at 6am like the rest of us :p

Fat chance, after qualy is done I have to go sit on a coach in a police escort to go watch City play Swansea. I need all the sleep I can get before I start getting shoved about by coppers :D

Sleep on the coach, you will be fine :D

Anyway, you cant miss all the pre-qualifying talk with Humphrey's and DC! Best bit of the show :p

Atleast we dont have any Eddie Jordan to annoy us.

Never liked Briatore - he's a selfish, arrogant, obnoxious moron with a big gob which he opens before engaging his brain.

Regards his current whinge over the diffusers, perhaps someone would like to remind him about Renault's use of mass dampers, a device which helped them to two world championships but was subsequently proven to be illegal. He should be grateful they weren't docked points from every race in which they'd used this "illegal" device. Now he's whinging about other teams having something they don't yet which has been proven to be legal!

making mass dampers illegal was nearly as dodgy as making the mclaren 3rd pedal illegal.

How is the mass damper a moveable aerodymanic device in any more way than normal suspenison?

Ive always believed that the FIA had just decided that they didnt like Mass Dampers for some reason, but had to use the 'moveable aerodynamic aids' rule to get them banned, as there wasnt a rule about ofsetting the wobble of tyre walls....

Good for Williams, and Nico! But it seems its early yet for a lot of teams. Could be a very good race - lots of messing/guessing.

<edit> is anyone else awake???</edit>

Rosberg and Trulli both looking quick, Didn't really see much of Brawn but I think it is safe to say they will be right up there. Nice to see Mclaren up near the front putting in some quick laps, wonder how much of it is true pace though.
Renault and BMW don't seem to be anywhere this weekend and then we have Red Bull who seem to have no luck with them this season, maybe Coulthard managed to leave it behind when he left last season :p
