FIA have given Bahrain another month to decide if they can race, new deadline is June the 3rd. All that says to me is that both sides are desperate to hold the race, which seems very insensitive to me given the situation in Bahrain never mind how much it will bugger up the race calendar.

If it was any other venue I'd dare say it'd be cancelled already.

The Middle Eastern races bring substantial amounts of money into F1. For this reason, Bernie and his cohorts will do everything possible to keep it on the race calender. Also, consider that fewer races could mean that some sponsors/advertisers will pay less than the agreed fees (which were based on a full race calender).

Damn, this 3 week break is long.
