The first two races suggest Merc (or at least Hamilton) have the edge over Ferrari if they have a trouble free weekend. Hopefully they do as it is never too early to start clawing back Vettel’s points lead.

Mercedes have a lot of race pace, they have just been unlucky. Vettel will have his share of bad luck yet, it is a long season.

Unless there’s a problem tomorrow I can’t see Ham getting further than P3. For the sake of an interesting WDC, we need Vet and Ham to be trading wins or Vet is going to run away with it and it’ll get boring.

Last year was the perfect mix until the Ferrari imploded, so let’s hope none of the cars let the drivers down and we have a fair fight.

After this performance it does look likely. Oh well, onto the next season!

Funny how some posters have suddenly stopped complaining about the current engine rules.

It’s still far too early to be calling the championship, even if Vettel does win tomorrow.

However, it looks as though the Merc’s narrow operating window is causing them issues again.

Interesting that Bottas had the edge over Hamilton this morning and how after P1 and P2 everyone thought Merc we’re back on top.

If the track temps are warmer tomorrow it will hopefully make the Mercs more competitive but Hamilton is a long way back starting in 4th.
