Yup, going to be in Chinatown in London for then. :) I don't really have any problems with chopsticks at all tbh. My mum on the other hand finds it almost impossible to use them. I feel quite sorry for her when shes trying her hardest to eat in a chinese restaurant, but is just getting increasingly frustrated.
 
can just about use them but hate wooden ones makes me cringe when I use them

have some nice Denby aluminium ones at home which are excellent

Eh? The traditional way of eating is to put the meat, vegetables etc into your rice bowl then lift it to your mouth and eat..?

Eh? Have i got it horribly wrong then? I'm sure i saw people doing that all over the shop. Or are you talking specifically SK? :confused:

I think where most people go wrong is that they expect to hold the food all the way from the plate/bowl on the table (long distance when it's a slithery prawn or pork ball!), instead from what i've seen, the done thing is to hold the bowl right up close to yoru face when needed. You should go to Thailand. Fork and spoon can make a meal last all of 5 minutes :D
 
I "can" use them but i prefer to cheat and use the ones that are joined at the end in an M shape... failing that i just use a knife and fork :D

Koreans tend to see chinese as dirty and rude :o Not sure why things became different with regard to eating.

Its not a race :o god i sound like my mum there..:o

and remember that korean rice is sticky so its much easier to pick up with choppers..if you try and shovel it into your mouth then you will end up with a huge lump of rice in your mouth and prolly choke to death :o

Its the same in Japan, probably much bigger infact - emphasised by the war, the Chinese have always been looked down upon. Maybe something as simple as eating displays this, the Koreans and Japanese don't lift their rice bowls, but the "dirty Chinese" do.

All rice can be sticky if you cook it with just the right amount of water, westerner's rice is individual only because its boiled with a pan full of water so all the starch is boiled off. I realise its not a race but eating with just 1 hand, with the other hand doing nothing seems odd thats all.

Yeah...but ALL korean rice is sticky...

and you eat with one hand and drink with the other :o
