My dad has recently been in the market for a new watch and has been looking at various rolex's..but he has come across reviews of which rate these Christopher Ward watches very highly.

Anyone know anything about them?

Just looked at their website and considering the most expensive watch I can see is £185, then surely a decent Rolex, Breitling etc. is infinitely better.

Yeah i know, but theres been various people who have said that given to watch specialists who have never heard of them, rate the price to be as far as £1600.

One of the main reasons people spend £2k+ on a watch - which a Rolex is going to be - is as a status symbol. I appreciate people also value the type and quality of movement.

But in my eyes, a man shopping for a rolex wouldn't consider a £150 "never heard of it" as an alternative - unfortunatley no matter how good the inner workings are.

Or am I wrong

We are just wondering what people have herd about them..as we've heard nothing but good reviews about the quality.

Just because he is looking at rolex's and has seen these doesnt mean hes gonna buy one now does it?

He is definately looking at rolex's (which he has been close to buying various ones) but he is simply wondering what the deal is with these Christopher Ward watches.

Thing is people can rave about the quality of a £150 watch, my Seiko is high quality and actually cost me less than that, but they don't compare to high end watches.

What type of watch does he want?

Sports watch, dress watch, chronograph? What's the budget?

The Rolex oyster range is quite large.

Some of those might be over the £850-900 pricerange though. I have to admit, im now a bit of a Seiko fanboy, and I absolutely love the GS range.

The Omega and Seiko are very nice.

He likes Omega too. May have to point them out, that Seiko is amazing.

Just because I can, im going to post my favourite watch of all time. Although personally I would go with a black crocodile skin strap rather than brown, but its still pure watch porn IMO.

make sure he doesn't buy one of these unless he tries it in real life, they are incredibly small by modern standards
