That Credor and Omega are incredibly ugly in my opinion and incredibly overpriced.

I agree about the Omega, and im not completely struck on the Credo either, but Credor do make some amazing watches IMO.

make sure he doesn't buy one of these unless he tries it in real life, they are incredibly small by modern standards
Yeah he would try it first. Any watches you can recommend?

He likes old fashioned watches (like the one pictures above).

Just because I can, im going to post my favourite watch of all time. Although personally I would go with a black crocodile skin strap rather than brown, but its still pure watch porn IMO.

*dribble*
Now thats MY style watch. Maybe not his though..will still see.

That watch is verryyy nice.

Ah I see that he prefers older fashioned watches. I will ask my parents about it and see what they recommend.

I like the design of cartier posted above cause I have a couple cartiers and I love them ( might be because I am still <20 ). Kinda suit my age and my wrist size etc.

But I think Cartier do have old fashioned watches?

Just started looking for a 70s retro watch and I love the Omega Constellation watches. The price of a good one is about £150-250. Very retro and very vogue at the moment.

When I get back from my skiing holiday in a couple of weeks time I will do some serious searching for one.

Cartier has a pretty wide collection of watches. Give them a go

Cartier are an odd one, most of their stuff is more jewellery than a high end watch with very cheap movements but some of the stuff is ok ( as long as good discounts are obtained as most models depreciate very badly )

Panerai would stand out as the obvious choice, would also include the IWC portuguese range and the Omega aqua terra and railmaster

Panerai are amazing, but perhaps a bit too expensive.

Christopher Ward looks like 1 of these RRP type scams £1500 RRP but were selling them for £185.

I would suggest Maybe a Zenith class elite or maybe a IWC Spitfire the IWC portuguese may be a bit over budget at 3k ish

If I was spending close to 1k on a watch, I definitely wouldn't be looking at a Seiko. Yes it does look pretty nice, but purely based on the status side of things, just about every Seiko most people look at is from a high street catalogue shop.

Try taking a look at a seiko Marine Master imo its every bit as good as some of its Swiss counterparts, id be much more impressed to see a MM than i would to see a Seamaster or Sub, from a exclusivity point of view

The only thing Seiko do wrong is marketing, they send us the kinetics and quartz stuff, but they make some fantasic sub £100 autos but wont sell them here the skx 007 and 009 are classics

Which all sound like they get sold on one of them auction TV channels. Which I don't get at all, the price is obviously fixed...? But that's another story.

It's not on topic, it's not new, it's not uber-bling, but I'd give my left testicles' son for one of these. Pure, understated Omega porn in it's most simple form.

Lovely.

Thats because your used to the European range. We unfortunately only get sent the cheap end of the range.(Although I still like some of this stuff as well). The full Seiko range includes some very good quality and exclusive watches, that personally I would choose over a Rolex anyday.

that red omega is a redial and never existed :) probably done by one of the fleabay sellers from india that seem to think that ppl like bright colours, ive seen some horrendous ones :) ,it also has the wrong hand set, wont be worth much except for parts as it is,to the op look at oris, iwc, meistersinger, limes, seiko,nb yaeger, ollech&wajs, revue thommen, omega there should be something in there he likes.

Considering the style he's after, as Pugster mentioned, Oris might be up his street - although cheaper (around the £400-£450 mark) than he was looking at:
