Cinemas: how strict are they on age?

Our local Cineworld is fairly hot on checking ages, even when my son is with me. I don't have a problem with it.

After all, Natasha Kaplinsky can't be wrong, can she?

How do they check for kids? Just ask for age/DOB? Can't imagine many 15 year old have ID.

I'm sure it's a problem for some. He has a photo of his passport on his phone, in case they push it, but he's normally only asked for his DOB while they stare at him intensely.

National insurance card could be used as ID most places back in the day they got sent out before people were 16 to.

Shame they stopped doing physical cards, they could have merged it into a national ID card
