As James (who I'm 99% sure owned one) says, the interior is truely shocking and built for one thing only... the track.

Correct. I did. It was the best car i ever owned (a dream car i wanted) and i kept it a total of 8 months. THATS how much of a dissapointment it was.

The alarm was crap (spent 2 weeks in the garage with honda trying to fix it). This was AFTER it spent a week going off at all hours (picture me hanging out the window at 3am turning the dam thing off)!

Id definatly recommend an ITR over a CTR now. The build quality on my mates ITR is so much better.

Its a different driving ethos.

This is what a lot of people seem to struggle with. If you get squeamish and think your engine is gonna blow when you rev beyond 4000rpm then don't get a VTEC. If however you are hitting 8200rpm and wishing that you could bend that needle round a bit more then the CTR is gonna be a rewarding drive. The Elise hits the limiter at around 8700rpm so when I drive the Elise then get back into the CTR I find myself thinking it hits the limiter far too early.

Its different, it's marmite, and if you've been driving turbo cars then its probably not going to be your cup of tea unless you open your mind a little.

I came from a decade of driving turbocharged cars and at first I wasn't impressed at all with the CTR. Then I adjusted my driving style to rev the nuts off it and I nowadays I just love hearing the engine scream. It takes a little while to know how to get the best out of it but once you do it's really worth it.

Hi All,

Looking to purchase a lil car soonish and my eyes are currently set on Civic Type R.

The best thing is to go test drive some motors, then you can see if the car fits your needs and what you want from a car.

Have a look at Cupra-Rs and S3's, you can pick older ones of these up for similar money as a type R

See thats what I dont get, if you drive anything fast you rag the nuts off it. It makes no difference if its a turbo car, Vtec, diesel, 2 stroke bike, 4 stroke bike.

I can scream the hell out of anything I drive/ride without any adjustment in driving style. You may have to use the gears more but its no different.
