Civic Type R, the proper one...

Have you looked at the economy and CO2 figures of the ED 330i?

Nope, will do though just for a laugh! :p

Tbh I really won't mind a Derv lump so long as it's got 170bhp ish, has not been put together by VAG or anyone even losely connected with VAG and doesn't come wrapped in a Passat.

Coming from the person who drives his bmw at 60mph in the middle lane of a motor way because there is some snow on the grass? If you've ever driven a vtec car, I'd be surprised if you rev'ed it enough for it to kick in!

It was a tongue in cheek comment.

Estimate £37k (Current list = £33,230) including options for BIK purposes * 40% * 22% (173 CO2's) = £3256 or £271.33 a month

Urban 28.5mpg
Extra Urban 50.4mpg
Combined 39.2mpg

It's a credible alternative financially if you're considering a six pot soot chucker, or a higher CO2 cheaper petrol. IIRC you liked your E46 330Ci?

The economy of a new 330i is fantastic on the motorway. They warm up quicker than the older ones aswell. It's still not very good around town tho. I got around 30 mpg in mixed driving from my 330i conv. Which I think is pretty good for a powerful car weighed down by 200kg of hard top gubbins.

the m54b30 isnt comical around town and from cold? i average 25mpg from cold over a very hilly NSL road for 5 miles and then onto a 30mph, stop start run over 13 more miles, which is far far better than i ever got from my mondeo on the same journey.....would you class that as comical? :s

Tom.

It is not economical from cold. Your economy average is boosted by the 13 miles with a warm engine. I drive 5 miles from cold and its currently showing 19.7mpg.
