Civilization VI

What would be really nice with 7 is if they could release a complete game, rather than holding half of it back for several DLCs, they won't of course.

Hope it's not like VI which was my least played Civ ever.

Yeah, VI never really clicked for me. I liked the ideas but I found they just didn't work in practice. Still, I think I still racked up 80 hours or so.

I guess with Sid Meier being 68 years old now, this could be the last Civilization game

Sid Meier hasn't been actively in any of the mainline Civ games for decades, only on the mobile spin-off Civilization Revolution games.

Is buying the Anthology edition for £15 the best way to fully update the base game?

Edit;
Yes, the Civilization VI Anthology edition includes all the additional content released for the game up to its release. Specifically, this version contains:

looks to be, allot of game there for that price. VI wasn't the best when it came out but with the expansions and updates over the years I think it's still a really enjoyable game. I think Civ V was similar, poor on release, good with the future polish.

I never play anything except for skirmish. Do the leader packs add new units or just campaign/scenario stuff I won't play?

According to steam I own the base game and gathering storm.

Edit. NVM, only one other 'proper' DLC.

68 isnt old btw
Thats actually quite an interesting topic, I had a long conversation recently with a friend about what constitutes the age brackets in 2024 in comparison to what constituted the age brackets 40 years ago. The way I see it there are brackets for ages, baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult, middle age, old age. Within that sort of delineation , something like 68 is past middle-age imo, so maybe I need another named bracket to slot in between middle age and old age. Not sure what I would name that. Maybe it should go - baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult, middle age, elderly, old age. Which would make 68 years old, elderly. One thing that certainly came out from the conversation with my friend was that the age brackets seem to have changed quite a bit from 40 years ago... I suspect that what people today consider middle age/elderly/old age , are higher numbers than what I considered middle age/elderly/old age 40 years ago.

EDIT : For reference, I consider myself to be passed middle age :)
