Clarification on a Ladbrokes football bet?

No you didn't. You bet on a win, not qualification.

The manager within the shop didn't believe so, he took my bet as to qualify, so maybe you need to take that up with him. I had no effect on the payout, only he did.

I said I bet to qualify, the manager of the shop said that I bet to qualify...the only person not involved in the betting process, yourself..believes I didnt.

I know who Im going to believe...

He's obviously done it as a one-off and to keep you a happy customer, not because you were correct :/

Youre right...bookies are infamous for paying out on bets are incorrect...

And...PLEASE read above. I never went in an unhappy customer. I never complained, argued, or played dumb. I went in with a slip, to ask questions and place more bets. I was told it would be paid. Therefore no act of keeping me happy took place.

Dude, seriously you need to read through the whole post.

The odds were never changed! They were never stated in the first place. Due to this, the computer raised it as a loss, even though it was a win, therefore it had to be altered to be paid. Not my words...the managers. I can only tell you what I was told by him.

You must lose a lot of money in that particular shop. That's probably why the management decided to pay you on this bet. They didn't want to lose your custom! :p

Nah, I only bet with 2 pound, once or twice a week at max on the football. Im not going to be able to rack up massive losses with that even if I tried

In that case it's even stranger, the odds are usually stated.

To which Ive stated above a couple of times, I completely agree with you. I dont normally pay too much attention to what they do behind the counter, however the times I have paid attention, they usually check on their screens for the odds and write them on the slip.

For whatever reason this time, they did not. Im not sure why, as, I really dont pay too much attention to what they do, as there are enough screens in there to keep my eyes busy for days.

I didnt misunderstand the rules of betting. I just never made myself aware of them, as due to the other amounts of bets I have made on league games, there was no reason for me to think otherwise. Not knowing this however, is clearly and obviously my fault, I have never denied this.

The ladbrokes manager never caved, I told him I had lost or so I thought based on the information I was given here at the start, he told me I had won.

And even if I was unaware of an incorrect bet. Had it of been incorrect, it wouldnt have been paid..Again, thats not me telling you, thats the manager of the ladbrokes telling me, hence why it was paid.

To be honest either way, correct or incorrect bet, for whatever reason it got paid at the amount it did, which was a nice surprise, and in future I will be writing to win at any time and to qualify, on all bets that are not league games. Im not really fussed either way.
