Clarkson get's some free poo

Fair enough really, Jeremy stands up for what he believes in and so do they.
Nothing wrong with being a hippy either, if it makes you happy.

Seems to me this forum is full of communists, who want to take away the right to protest so they can suck on clarksons ****.

Great, I look forward to clarkson with a muckspreader going round their house with the TG TV crew... After all, he's only standing up for what he believes in...

I think it is very selfish of him not to take responsibility for climate emissions

Why should he? His opinions have done nothing to alter climate change, and all this global warming talk is probably just hype anyway.

I haven't been given concrete proof that the Earth warming-up is the result of mankind, and not just the planet going through it's natural warming/cooling cycle.

This.

It's just scare tactics used to control people.

Global warming is widely accepted by the scientific community now. It is a complicated subject though and it is over simplified for the masses. Their are loads of variables and CO2 is only one of them, it is a greenhouse gas though (if their was no CO2 in the atmosphere the earth would be a permanent ice ball). My point is CO2 isn't the only thing to be looked at, human activities are having an effect on the environment. The use of aerosols for instance have a cooling affect on the atmosphere great enough to completely offset the heating due to CO2, but as someone else has already mentioned live stock produce methane which is way more potent than CO2 as a greenhouse gas. Also the atmosphere is a huge system, it takes a very long time to reach equilibrium, it's hard to predict what will happen.

I don't hate Jeremy Clarkson infact i quite enjoy top gear, the best cars they usually feature probably have a minuscule contribution compared to the car industry as a whole because they are manufactured in such small quantities.

I don't know what to suggest as a problem to the solution, the human civilisation is so large now we can't hope to have zero effect on the environment.

Well what else is there to do on a Wednesday? Get a ****ing job for example? Other than that there is no clear proof that 'Global Warming' exists other that Al-Gores head and the heads of rebellious teens who no longer want to be seen on facebook fighting big coorporations as they have to be employed by somebody when they graduate. I'm sure he'll laugh this off in his next coloum of how he needed some for his garden anyway.

And my god, what tripe the Guardian is.

Lolwut.. of course 'global warming' "exists".. their thermometers aren't exactly going to lie, are they?

And so, explain the last heat/cool cycle of the planet, that occurred before mankind started to create greenhouse gasses by burning fossil fuels?

Yes, the temperatures and climate are changing. No, there is no proof that we have caused it.

He's an establishment toff who pretends he's a man of the people. He's exactly the kind of moron which anyone with a modicum of intelligence should be able to spot from a mile off. The smug git.

He's the son of a travelling salesman and a teacher. I'm not sure he qualifies for "toff" status, given that this implies an aristocratic background.

Don't get me wrong, i am no hippy and i'm a petrolhead, but what you're saying is basically that we should bury our head in the sand and hope for the best.

Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center said:
Though natural amounts of CO2 have varied from 180 to 300 parts per million (ppm), today's CO2 levels are around 380 ppm. That's 25% more than the highest natural levels over the past 650,000 years. Increased CO2 levels have contributed to periods of higher average temperatures throughout that long record.

Why couldnt they do it properly?

A few years back Richmond Tigers had a Shocker of a season in the AFL and one unhappy fan Drove a truck load of poop up to there main gates and tipped off :D

No clear proof?

People who have that belief are to me WORSE than those who go on and on and on about environmental damage.

Use your brain. Think of all the fumes/CO2 we dump into the atmosphere every second. How can anyone with any intelligence say that this has no effect whatsoever on the environment.

It's practically the same thing as smokers claiming their habit does them no damage. Even without any medical proof, it's bloody obvious that breathing in all that smoke is going to do you no good.

And in defence of Clarkson (not something I would normally do) I'm not even sure he is a man made climate change denialist?
