Clarkson, Hammond and May sign with Amazon Prime for new car show

Just read a recent faq type thing about Amazon prime and it seems even as a subscriber you have to pay for some things like new movies/TV shows.

Could this affect the new clarkson show or will that be included in the subscription cost since it's an 'original' programme for Amazon?

No, everything on prime is free.
There is more stuff and mainly newer stuff you can buy/stream for money.

Amazon Instant Video and Amazon Prime Instant Video are sort of two different things, you don't get get everything in instant video by purchasing prime instant video. If they've signed for Prime then it'll be included in a prime sub.

Awww, will da widdle koolpc not be able to watch the telly show with the car guys in it?

//I'm looking forward to it. I've been a Prime member for years so it's no big deal for me.

I might sign up anyway, since I was looking for an audio streaming service as well. Coupled with the prime delivery and video as well it's not a bad deal at all. My only gripe is prime audio is onlu streamed at 256kbps but that probably won't be too much of an issue, well unless you are a picky audiophile like me ;)

I'll just watch it on iPlayer.

u wot m9?

Bit annoyed it wasn't a Netflix deal - I find their shows generally have a much larger subtitle selection than the Amazon equivalents which is a bit shoddy for a company of their size tbh.

I watch on my tablet in bed and have to keep the volume down so subtitles are pretty much essential.

Great to see them back though :)

Earphones?

Amazon obviously paid the higher figure to win the show over from Netflix. This should give them a nice edge with the competition.

It should also give them a lot more free movement with what they want to do, rather than having to listen to BBC's moany board of directors. Can't see it being aired on TV channels for several years at least. Amazon will wan't to own exclusive rights to the show for a while.

Good move by Amazon. I signed up to Prime just before "Prime Day" when it was reduced, this could well make me keep my subscription when it expires after the first year.

Another nice feature and a selling point of Prime for me is you can share the Next Day Delivery with other people/family (up to 5 people) even if they live at a different address.

There is this wonderful invention called head/earphones which might be worth looking into.

Glad its ended up on Amazon tbh, I hardly ever use Netflix and don't get my moneys worth so was thinking of cancelling it. Amazon Prime on the other hand I get for cheaps as I'm one of those student types... measly £39 a year.
