No, she was very annoying. But it's half the point of the show is for Clarkson to have pet projects to show or try to create farming in other ways with the vast financial backing he has.
 
Yep I’m sure each episode has a budget he needs to spend on projects.

there a number of insects (Aphids being a major one) that can cause serious diseases in crops, the easiest way to get ready of them is to spay a insecticide, how ever this has a major downside that it kills everything. both the good and the bad insects, and also affects the food chain.

there a school of though, based on the old "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" that if we can increase the predators of the bad insects, they take care of the them, so by making a environment suitable for small birds and other predators, you take care of the cause of the diseases and improve your yields/profits
 
This series was certainly a huge improvement on series 4. Really enjoyed this one. It was a sad moment to see him announce his illness to the others but I had already seen he's OK now in other media before I watched it.

Also thought the ending song was very appropriate.
