Just rememberd the real reason I joined the forum!

I bought Clay bar since I read all the wonderfull stories and after following the instructions, keeping the paintwork "moist" with the detailer liquid I really think im doing it wrong, looks really crap after trying to "rub it in" and the paintwork looks patchy, if thats the right way to describe it.

is there anything obvious i might not be doing right here? is there a secret way of applying that is not in the instructions?

thanks in advance

Cass

what are you trying to say? do I need to prove it? if so how, pics video u name it, its on the drive dude.

honestly I think I might have busted the paint on the bonnet, started on the bonnet then after 30 mins gave up as it looked pretty bad. it does look ok now ive waxed it though, no marks or nothing, I just went to double check and I dont think ive wrecked it afterall.

Nice, hope the damage isnt too much.

I dont think the damage is too bad tbh, looks ok actually now but when i first did it looked awefull, Ill get the bonnet resprayed if it starts to look bad, ive had the bumper and bonnet done before, its a every 2 years job becuase of stonechips, they are like magnets to stones 911's.

well i think the marks did polish out, after reading the link I think I did not keep the clay as moist as it needed to be. . . . the meguire instructions where not so clear iirc
