it goes, yes but not as fast as the ducati 0-60 and thats whats important in UK, the 911 will have it top end but 0-100 the duc will win on power to weight ratio, the duc "might" have a few mods too :) but not gass flowed head and titanium valves like the 911.
 
older 911's, id love one tbh but i need a everyday driver to do around 30-40k miles per year so the newer is the only answer.

clay, I agree and thats why I started the post, I see no benifit so far and I only bought it after reading the forum users here rate it so much and application seems to be the key.. .. .. ..
 
right you obviously put gemballa GT 500 in google, well done, mine is not the 997, thats the newer car, very different to mine, mine is the 996 older car and has no driver aids, some say this is better but i think its down to personal taste.

the original GT 500 based on the 996 911 has no turbo, it is norminally aspirated the newer is 520bhp but with turbo so drive very differently as torque and power are delivered in very different ways.

neil, Im not 100% sure tbh, I know it is 3.8 where as standard 996 is 3.2, the head has been gassflowed and had titanium valves with different cams and larger lightweight pistons/conrods and all that, sounds like a bag of spanners on tickover thats about to stall but this is normal (apparently) ive never had it dyno'd either so the claim from gemballa of 500bhp might not even be near for all I know, just being honest all the same. . . . .
