Cleaning the old thermal paste off my CPU (E6600), just got a question.

I've removed most of it with loo roll, but there is still some of the paste left on there (From the stock heatsink). I've hunted around the house and come up with a bottle of Tesco Value white spirit. Would this do the job (Combined with a lint fee cloth which I'm going to go and buy), or should I leave it how it is?

isopropyl alcohol - get some at your local pharmacy as close to 100% as possable. and apply some MX-2

ethyl alcohol is ok if you can't get the better stuff.
Both are sold as rubbing alcohol so check the label

That stuff is good and smells nice (less warning instructions too), but the rainforest people sell servisol IPA 170 for only a few quid. If your going to buy something online, might as well buy the best (it's cheaper too and can be used for lots of other jobs) :)
