Oh well. Was only going to get it to walk around, take in the atmosphere and perhaps shoot a dog or two since the gameplay and dialogue is so, so bad. I'll give it a miss then and wait for Fallout 3.

lol no it won't, it runs on the PS3 and 360 for a start, all Bethesda will do (most likely) is bump up the textures and offer the higher resolutions and AA options.
I'd wager a 4870 will max it out at 1920x1200, Crysis will still be more demanding.
We don't even know what these "Extreme requirements" are. It could 2560, 16xQ AA, 16xAF, insane texture quality, full Dx10 HDR lighting with shaders and 10 mile view distance.

hehe. cyrket are unrealistic with their requirements and get slammed. GSC are prehaps on the button or a little over estimating if anything...and they get slammed for it.
