Clio gone, sensible/grownup car arrived

Yeah, I'd leave the spoiler off.

If you do get a spoiler, please for the love of all that's holy get a version7+, not a 6 or lower. They just look wrong with the lines of the car, yet it's all the WRXs seem to have.

TBH I'd rather get the suspension dropped a little so the wheels fill the arches better.

Gotta love it where a Subaru Impreza with a turbocharged engine is considered a sensible/grown up car, only on OcUK :D

Joking aside, I like the Imprezas, the blobeye is definitely my favourite variant and thats a lovely colour :)

Don't put the spoiler on it. They look silly with WRX alloys IMO

If anything I'd be tempted removing it altogether and just getting a nice little lip spoiler :p

I'm saving the big spoiler for when I (maybe) do get an sti :)

Off to emtpy the first tank of fuel off now!

Needed a car with a bigger boot and slightly more practical? Should have bought another 19 with the intention of putting the Clio engine in it. Can't believe you have had the Clio that long. Anyhoo nice purchase, decent colour choice too.

lol you don' tknow how many times I've sat here contemplating getting another 19 as a toy! Chap who sits opposite me at work must be bored of me mentioning it now, although he's as keen for me to do it as I am!

Worked out first tank of fuel average 31.6mpg with a combination of really 'light' driving as well as booting it more than normal (well it is new to me :) ). So not too bad then.

So is it completely standard?

Yup, and looks it to me. Bar a weird tow bar like thing on the back the first owner used to mount a bike rack (it's not an actual tow bar but just something bolted at the back which I'm removing soon!).

Don't know how long it'll stay that way though :)

Then get some alloys too :p

Seriously, I love my spoilers but the WRX spoiler is among the nastiest spoilers out there. Really doesn't suit the car at all.

If you buy a Impreza, you need an ironing board on the back. Simple as.

Nice car!

I got one too :) ... easy to get above sti power:

Decat (3 cats in these mofos, but just remove the centre if on a budget)
Panel filter
Re-map (Get an open source remap its cheaper and exactly the same + launch control - £300)

Standard WRX turbo takes upto 285bhp / 300ft torque

To get above 285bhp

Change the turbo... td05?
STI Injectors
Scoop
Remap
= 310bhp + :D

Have fun! Looks very clean ... join scoobynet

As mentioned for this I'd go the other way and just get the JDM STi lip spoiler you can get for it, that's if I bother changing the spoiler at all.

All being well job wise (public sector you see....) I'll move on to an STi later on. Maybe :)

I think that's going to be the plan, an H+S backbox and maybe centre section (will the centre make it a lot louder as I like having a quiet exhaust for once!) with possibly a remap later on.

Tbh it's quick enough for me so am happy, just want to change the backbox as I don't like the twin pipes!

There are two pieces to the centre section, one with a cat, and one with the resonator. The resonator is there to remove the noise, yes.

The exhaust goes something like this on the WRX:

Engine > Manifold > Uppipe (cat) > Turbo > Downpipe (cat) > Short Centre section (cat) > Long Centre section (resonator) > Backbox

Changing the stuff in bold will give it a nicer sound, without being too much louder when driving normally, but a great noise when booting it - and of course still pass emissions - with the added bonus of some better response and power :) H&S is definitely a good choice, great quality.

Yes it will make a difference taking out the centre - You cant beat the subaru sound tho ;)
