Hi guys,

I have watched The Bourne Identity, I have watched King Arthur, I have watched Closer, and tonight have watched Sin City. I am sorry, but I do not understand how this man is an actor, he is stiffer than Keanu Reeves and he is more monotonous than Arnold Schwarznegger, and it bugs the hell out of me.

He has single-handedly ruined all of the above movies for me. The only saving grace of The Bourne Identity was the action, the only saving grace of King Arthur was Keira Knightley and the other knights of the round table being great actors and plenty of action, the only saving grace of Closer was Natalie Portman stripping, and Sin City was a good film, but he still managed to ruin it.

The guy from the Cillit Bang advert has more acting talent in his little finger than Clive Owen does in his entire body, and I hope they end up switching jobs.

Am I the only one?

Sincerely yours,
Úlfhednar.

Not seen the other 3 movies, but I thought he was dreadful in 'King Arthur'. Very wooden performance, and just didn't seem to suit the role at all.

I have to concur, his performace in King Arthur was terrible. As for Sin City I think the role suited him because of the style of the film not requiring much in the way of acting from any of the stars in it.

Hang on...You watched a Bourne film and chose to pick on Clive Owen instead of Matt **** FACE Damon?!

Agree , They would make a perfect pair of book ends.

Cheers,

....and to think he could possibly have been the next James Bond

To his credit he did say he wouldn't be any good in that role, and didn't want to do it.

I agree he is quite wooden but I liked his performance in Derailed :)

absoloutely terrible, he just aboput passe dit off in sin city but I think thats was more to do with the great performacnces form other actors carryinghim.

i loved king arthur, well I'll rephrase i loved everything about king arthur other than clive Owen,

Clive Owens best film for me is the Croupier, proves he can hold an above average film together in a lead role, he's never going to win an oscar but the roles i've seen him in he plays quite well.

Damon was superb in Good Will Hunting and The Talented Mr Ripley and very good in both the Bourne Films, Rounders is worth a look also

i quite like him. i thought he was really well-suited to the Sin City role he got.

he's better than Nicholas Cage - that blokes more wooden than Woody Woodpecker's collection of wood.

I watched Sin City again today and I still think he puts in one of the best performances.

If you want something meatier check out 'The Croupier'

hi,
totally agree with the op... terrible actor! went to see closer with the girlfriend and felt like walking out. wasnt my sorta film but was willing to endure it ,and then clive owen came on..so wooden that when he goes for a shave a forest appears in the bathroom! awful.
rant out,
steve.

when i saw closer i didn't even realise he was in it... seriously natalie portman stripped in that film, does anything else actually matter ? ;)

personally if were going to complain about actors i would go for kurt russell, that guy couldn't act his way out of a paper bag
