I'd rather live somewhere cold all year round.

I've already been on amazon and ordered one of those magnetic mosquito nets for the balcony door and some mosquito nets for the windows. something has gotta keep the flies, wasps and bees out or I will go insane

Complaining about the heat, and flies, in Newcastle...............

I'd hardly say it's tropical up here. I love the summer. We have the conservatory doors into the garden open all day. Lots of fresh air, sound of the birds etc. It's great. Winter is a dark, miserable mess.

Finally managed to change the clock in the car without looking at the manual. I'll take that as today's win.
Only took 10 minutes...

So you want the sun up at 5 so you can drive to work in the light rather than enjoy it on your own time once you get home?
Oddly enough I don't work every day, the days I like to do stuff I do it as early as possible usually time it with twilight.
My late afternoons and evenings are spent at home indoors usually preparing meals for the family and doing house work so it could go dark at 15:00 for all I care.

I hate hot weather, stupidly bright blinding sun etc..

also bees, flies, moths, ants all the annoying things are around....

lets go for a nice summers walk, how romantic breathing in these clouds of midgies that hover at face height under the trees , ahh yes glorious :p

what's that sticky sugary food? here comes a wasp

Sounds more like a fear of insects to me

Stupid clocks, we had lovely weather on Friday and Saturday, so nice that it was shorts and a walk along the beach time. As soon as British SUMMER Time came on the scene, it's been cold, dark and miserable. Temperature barely above 10°C, windy and damp. We've even got a 10% chance of snow forecast this weekend.

If we'd stayed in GMT, none of this would have happened*

Last week was 25c inside where I live and that was with the balcony door wide open.

I don't live on a ground floor, it gets unbearably hot

25C is lovely - and think of the positive, you're saving on heating bills!

23c is my ideal inside.
Usually keep. Occupied rooms at 20-21 if I really want comfort.

House rarely gets too hot. But I found working in peak of the heat last year tricky.

But I'll take it. 30c is amazing on beach

Even with windows open with a through breeze? I can see why you might find that a little uncomfortable if you don't get air in.
I'm on the top floor of a small apartment block about 7 stories high.
My balcony/living room and kitchen get full sun for 8 hours a day which is great for growing tomatoes and pepper plants but not so great for me.
I'm assuming the heat directly on the flat roof above me gets directly absorbed into my flat or something.

3mph breeze...
why so hot? maybe my downstairs neighbours have the heating on 24/7 or something
