Yes, they didn't learn from this exact same thing in the 70s. It will fail again.

Parents start complaining too much about taking their children to school in the dark, and accidents occurr more frequently.

Humbug. There's nothing wrong with GMT/UTC, and in fact it's just better. This nonsensical temporal waltz twice each year serves only to further discombobulate my body clock. Servers are so much easier/better when set to proper GMT/UTC as well.

It's been years since I worked shifts, and don't think it ever happened to me.

Go home 'early' in Spring and stay 'late' in the Autumn. The idea is if you are there a few years it all works out (it doesn't, but one of those things you just deal with).

It's dark when I get up but I know in a few weeks it'll be bright again. It's just a bit weird at first.
