CNC, perspex case design.....

Lian Li A10 Motherboard Tray looks ideal. also adds another exhaust fan

and 2 x Lian Li EX-33N1 Hard Disk Mount Kit for the 6x5.25" mounts.

Do those dimensions locate the center of each fan?

It all lines up. Those fans are going to be a tight fit! You might have to sand the edges a tiny bit.

I used 104.5 mm betwixt the holes (in real life that would ±0.3 mm). 15 mm betwixt fans. Nifty.

This does bork the 3rd strut though, right? It ends up right in the middle of a fan. Am I misunderstanding the vision here?

Yeah the fans fit snuggly together.
ahh crap didn't think of that. I was expecting some gap between the fans to slot the struts into.
how about cutting the top section of that strut, then reinforcing the struts with a rectangle, which would then give us a mounting point for thescrew holes on the side of the rad.

There's plenty of room behind the 2nd strut even with the furthest rear portion of the rad's tank coplanar with the front edge of the rearmost strut. The 3rd either needs to move or be removed.

How about cutting the top section of that strut, then reinforcing the struts with a rectangle, which would then give us a mounting point for the screw holes on the side of the rad.
I don't follow. Can you draw it? Are there screw holes through the side of the rad? I thought they were only through the top and bottom, a location coincident with the fan mounts.

Very nice indeed, great work :)
How about removing the top part of the strut which is in the way. then adding some panels across the struts. Then moving the rad/fans up so it's flat with the top panel.

Crap pic to illustrate..

How about just remove the offending section of the 3rd strut's 24 mm crossbeam? You could then run screws from the top of the case into the thick, meaty plastic there to hold it all together. You wouldn't need ugly cross bracing then.

Make it symmetric, drill holes in the same location in all 4 struts.

Dinner time for a few, then I'll come back with an illustration of what I'm talking about. :p

yep a illustration would be great. But yeah the top section of that strut needs to go..

Although I have to go to bed in a bit, so if I don't reply that's why..

Making the tops of the struts 26 mm makes for an interference (non) fit. 24 mm would be better since a standard fan is 25 mm thick ±0.5 mm. I'll make the change.

You're very welcome. I like this kind of crap. :p

Whoa, that was way too much work. Meh, it came out great:

You need to give me an idea of what you'll be doing for fan grills. I can then wrap this part of the assembly up.

The back panel's mocked up. Here's what we've got so far:

It's got a nifty notch that wraps around the top and inside of each of the side panels to help locate it a bit.

Here's an idea of how the mobo will look when installed:

50 mm between the bottom edge of the mobo and the top surface of the PSU as prescribed above is not enough, it interferes with the radiator. I used 30 mm here instead.
