Coca Cola

I disagree as there are plenty of other choices.

Drinks like pop should always be treated as a 'treat'. Not a staple.

I was brought up with choices. When I deserved a treat, my mum gave me choices and I get to choose, even then, cola was never more than a small can. People needs to understand what's staple and what's a treat. That's something parents needs to teach, not society and government banning this, restricting that.

If people start banging on about Coke and high sugar, next they'll be a mob going on about how much sugar some people put in their baked cookies, then followed by how many teaspoon of sugar some people put in their tea!

Kinda agree with Paxman though, I recently read the colour they use in the cans (Pepsi and coke) and it being linked to cancer and all sorts.

Dig deep enough and everything causes cancer, also I'd hope at least that most people don't sit licking or chewing the can to get the colour off.

Sometimes I think Paxman is going to physically assault his guests with the amount of rage he builds up...amazing its never happened.

This just in: Soft drinks have sugar in them

Coming up later today: Breakthrough as leading scientists discover air is actually transparent after a 10 year study.

Ok Paxman is a bit of a berk but he's right on this one. This is why I don't let teh kids have coca cola. Obscene amounts of sugar. 23 sachets of sugar in one small sized cup of Coke :E ‪

Agree/Disagree?

Yes, I agree that there is the equivalent of 23 sachets in a small size cup of Coke.

If you don't want the sugar, drink Coke Zero. Or water.

Coca-cola ice cold is an amazing drink. Cherry Coke is also fantastic.

I have cut down on Coke a lot because I was drinking 3 or 4 cans a day at one point. Now I drink it once or twice a week, but have upped my coffee/Monster intake :/

Could be right there! I read this thread then somehow ended up reading about the colour.

I don't understand how people can go through whole bottles in one day. I struggle with a single can! I grew up with fizzy drinks being more as a treat or something you have on special occasions rather than being a staple drink.

As for how much sugar there is in the drinks at the cinema, surely they dilute it so the amount of sugar is not necessarily proportional to the amount in a can.

Putting it into context: Too much water can kill you... Too little can also kill you... Everything in moderation folks ;)

Never really understood why people like Coca-cola in the first place. It's minging.

I can't stand it out of a can or the ~250ml bottles and avoid it generally but I do like a coke if I have a KFC - goes down well and likewise do like it with Whisky if I'm on a night out.
